Cut your hair at least 2 weeks before your session. That gives it time to grow to that perfect length. It gives the skin on the back of your neck and your forehead, that was covered by your hair, time to tan. You don't want that white line showing in your photos.
If you are wearing a hat for your photos, we will do those last, to avoid hat hair.
Trim your facial hair. All of it.
Beards and goatees should be trimmed up nicely. Retouching scraggly facial hairs is quite the undertaking, even for a professional retoucher.
Trim your nose hairs. Yep, They can show in your photos.
Pluck any stray eyebrows. Unruly eyebrows should be tamed. Any unibrow issues waxed about a week before your session, to aviod any bumps or redness.
Do you need make up? Maybe. If your skin has an uneven tone, such as ruddy cheeks or other redness. Then yes. If you are prone to blemishes, then yes. If you have acne scarring. Then yes. Professional make up is included in all of my photo sessions. Tami Mayhew of Classy Gal Glo is the make up artist for my studio. She will have your skin tone looking flawless in a snap. Don't worry guys. No one will know, unless you tell them. That, my friend, is the magic of professional make up.
Moisturize. Your face. Your elbows. And oh my gosh, moisturize those ashy knees!
Trim your nails. Make sure that your nails are trimmed and clean. If your photo session is at the beach, be sure to give your toes the same attention.
Take the hairband off your wrist. You don't want it in your photos and you don't want the line it leaves on your wrist to show.
