How to Wear Ankle Boots This Fall
I hope you enjoy this repost from the Who What Wear blog. I completely agree with Lauren Eggertsen's advice on wearing ankle boots with skinnies. I've add in some pics that I curated from Pinterest to show you the do's and don'ts of ankle boots.
Skinny jeans that are too long or bunch up at the bottom with ankle boots make me crazy! Why? Because all that extra denim makes it appear as though I have a, well, cankles, for lack of a better word.
To me, these two photos show the most unflattering skinny jean style you can wear with ankle boots. Instead, I always opt for an ankle-grazing pair of skinny jeans. This way, the jean ends right where your boot starts, allowing for the most streamlined silhouette possible. Why would you choose bunching and bulkiness when you can so easily have the opposite? There is definitely a time for lengthier skinny jeans, but in my personal opinion, ankle-grazing pairs are the best style to wear when you're searching for the most flattering denim-and–ankle boot combination.
Cuff Your Skinnies
Because there are times you want a full length skinny jean, you can always cuff your skinnies to get rid of the extra fabric, giving you that streamlined look. Be sure to show just a peek of skin between your cuff and your boot.
Here, I have pulled some of my favorite ankle boot, street style shots that prove semi-cropped and ankle-grazing denim styles look the most flattering when paired with said boots whether they are skinnies or flares.
