Project Beauty with the 2017 & 18 Star Squads

What is Project Beauty?

Project Beauty is real teens with real stories. No make up. No retouching. It's a project to show young women that we are all beautiful. The images they see in social media and in ads aren't as perfect as they seem. It is exactly that, our imperfections, that make each of uniquely beautiful. With the rise of social media, we are seeing a huge increase in bullying and as a result, more depression and suicide in teens.

I want to invite you to join Project Beauty. For a fee of $40 for a 1/2 hour session, I will photograph you, no makeup, no retouching. All black and white images. 100% of the $40 will be donated to To Write Love On Her Arms @twloha. They are a non-profit organization that brings help, hope and resources to those struggling with depression, suicide, self-harm, eating disorders and other mental health problems. Click here to donate and select the session time that works for you. I can't wait to meet you and hear your story.

I've struggled with self image for a really long time. I used to feel like I always had to wear make up. I used to always cover my arms and my stomach because I was self-conscience of being chubby.I was told that I was too fat. Too fat to do modeling. I've come a long way. I've started to be myself and love who I am. -Jaiden, SFSU freshman and former Star Squad model

I love all of the stories these young women have so bravely shared with me and allowed me to share with you. I really think that this is a Project that I will do each summer with my model teams. Until next time...
